Breathwork is a general term that can refer to many different kinds of breathing exercises. This method uses a 2-stage (or 3 depending on your perspective) pranayama breath. It is an active meditation which very effectively helps our busy minds let go. The breath itself oxygenates our body stimulating our hypothalamus gland connecting to the nervous system and endocrine system via the pituitary gland. Our blood becomes more alkaline, our body opens up and energy flows through. The results and benefits are not only physical though. This healing modality allows us to release what we carry, clearing our head, supporting our physical systems, and encouraging mental, emotional and physical health.

Every experience is different so there is no one way to answer this question. The best approach is to let go of expectations and surrender to the experience of what needs to happen during your session. Each person and each session is unique but some people experience laughter, tears, or insights, they may get hot or cold, or have a variety of different body sensations. None of these or or all of these and more, are normal and safe.
